My shoreline currently is different than yours. Just how God intended it to be. I have five kids each on a different path from the same home.  My husband and I have learned over the years just how important it is to create a home where they can find their unique God-given direction through encouragement, prayer, advice, listening and the gentle nudges needed to help them pursue what they may not see! I know my parents did that for me (and my siblings). Sometimes kids get stuck in the ‘I don’t know’ and that is hard but God uses those times, it is not wasted.

As of today I have a grade 12 grad and grade 8 grad. Two milestones that mark something new, different, exciting and even a little scary. The oldest boys are working currently for the summer and my youngest will enter grade 6 (homeschooling) this September. Another season of motherhood that is different again. The constant change keeps me on my toes and sometimes full of emotion that the house will be a little more empty. Our kids are meant to fly. Their wings are meant to help them soar, not be clipped back.

“They may leave the nest, but we remain the builders and maintainers for a safe return”

 

As I stand on the shore of constant change I am reminded that God never changes,

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”
