Before you read any further I have a very special link from 100 Huntley Street on Canada Day. We are all aware of the historical hurts in our country. Every country has immense pain, it is a word-wide problem layered in our sinful nature. The only way we can truly overcome pain and hurt from others is resting in forgiveness. When we come to our heavenly Father with our pain and ask him to guide our choice to forgive, we will have peace. It can take years for this to occur. I wept as I listened to the residential survivor share his story. BUT what he shares is his journey toward forgiveness. All I can say is WOW. It is worth watching and then don’t stop there. There is much to do in our country, as wonderful and beautiful as it is, has scars and darkness. We must reach out to those that are hurting and listen to their stories. Stories of pain are all around us. We all have them. Look into ways you can bless our  beautiful First Nations. They, like us, need community and healing. Let’s pray and act.
 

I just finished listening to The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey and she interviewed Liz Curtis Higgs. I did not know her story and Liz shares how she came to know Christ. This is a must listen! I was so thankful to hear her honest reflections and her love for God. Grab a coffee and listen in!

Crossway has a great article by Jenn Wilkin called, Four Reasons to Let Go and Trust God. Jenn reminds us, “Our comfort lies not in holding all knowledge, but in trusting the One who does”. The article soundly confirms that God hold us and trusting him is the best choice. Each truth she shares is applicable to our lives and worthy of spending thoughtful time reflecting how it personally applies to us. 

My kids comment frequently that another book has arrived! Well, that is exactly what just happened, again. I just received three new books I will be using for some Bible curriculum at home. The first one is by Dr. David Jeremiah called, Answers to Questions About THE BIBLE, a book by Linda Finlayson, God’s Bible Timeline and Brave By Faith by Allistair Begg
I have started Brave By Faith and loving his look into the book of Daniel. I am inspired and challenged to choose faith no matter what. This is big, this is critical reading for today. I am looking forward to adding these to my reading this summer.

Homeschooling Curriculum

I am thinking about plans for my youngest and that may include: Explode the Code, Wordly Wise, Mystery Science, Sonlight Novels to read, Teaching Textbooks, outdoor education classes, my own small co-op in my home for project days and simply fun! Lots of ideas and I will piece it together as I always have through the summer months. September always comes quickly and I want to be ready for what is to arrive in short order. My life is changing, sound similar!? But adjusting is part of the process that shapes us.
