Tangible Love
Sandee Macgregor / February 14, 2022
Sometimes it is hard to show love. You may not have all the ‘feels’ but showing love is the way we lavish others because of the love God has shown us. There will be days my family is frustrated with me, love shared is a bit more of a stretch. But we don’t stop showing love.
“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
When we remember the incredible love and grace we have been shown, our emotions must be set aside and put into action loving others.
I love Valentine’s Day simply because it is another way I can show tangible love to my family. I enjoy spoiling them with sweet treats or gift cards. It is a day to show love, a day to celebrate others. It has always been a ‘sweet’ day in our home. When the kids were all young it was fun to create valentine’s day crafts, bake or have a party. We did all of that and who said it needs to stop. My youngest asked why valentine’s is not a holiday? I love her way of thinking. So, instead of a full school day, we are making it our own sort of holiday that includes a playdate with her bestie! We will bake, get crafty and enjoy showering one another with tangible love.
I will celebrate my boys (even though I won’t see them) with ecards, phone calls or texts. The girls have sweet treats and tulips to enjoy. D and I enjoyed a last minute date night (spontaneity can be so much fun!).
How have you shown tangible love to others? How have you been shown this love?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Enjoy these songs on this very chilly Monday!
"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."
