“But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

He holds you now dear mom, he always has, even before you held your child. 

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

Psalm 139:13-18

Because he held you first, you can hold the gifts he gives to you. You are not alone as you walk this path of motherhood. Just like it says in Psalm 139:5-6, “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” He hems us in and because of this loving care, we are able to love our children. Some days are long, dark and lonely. Others are mountain top experiences. Not one day will be like the other, but we know that “Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

Mother’s day is a time to remember that your heavenly Father loves you with an everlasting love. This love is what our children need too! We have the privilege of sharing this amazing, steadfast love through all of our moments and days.
