About
Sandee Macgregor
My blog ( formally known as Sovereign Radiance now www.sandeemacgregor.com) is a hope-filled place, a journey into the heart of motherhood. It is a place to encourage mothers and come alongside families to seek the Lord and hold fast to the Word of God as the home’s foundation. Despite the uncertainties we face, there is one truth that remains: we have hope in Jesus (1 Peter 1:3). With our gaze on Him, we can radiate Christ’s love to our children (Psalm 34:5). In embracing our humble dependence on Him, we can be confident that He is sovereign over our days (Jeremiah 32:17, Revelation 4:11). I share a weekly Monday Motherhood Moment, book/movie reviews, a variety of blog posts to encourage the reader in their faith journey and share faith stories from a variety of women and men on my podcast, Conversations and Connections.
Brief history of the name Sovereign Radiance. It began in 2011 surrounded by my children in church. I sensed a tug on my heart as Hebrews 1:3 was mentioned.
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
I wrote down ‘Sovereign’ and ‘Radiance’ immediately, envisioning a ministry to encourage mothers with the powerful truth that He sustains us. Not long after, I gathered mothers and daughters in my home to engage in prayer, bible study and fellowship. Mentoring became a key aspect as the older girls led the younger ones while the mothers prayed together. Following this, the Lord placed a new vision on my heart: A Mother-Daughter Devotional and Shared Journal Experience for Psalm 119 focused on praying, reading His Word and journaling together. Since then I added a devotional for mothers and sons, A Devotional for Mothers and Sons: Walking in Wisdom through Proverbs that encourages drawing closer to the Lord and one another, my first award-winning children’s book, Can I Take it to Heaven? provides a delightful resource to discuss the topic of heaven with a child. As you turn the pages, you will read the thoughtful and kind conversation between Lucy and her grandmother that provides an opportunity for much-needed discussion with our children about heaven and coming this spring, Lucy’s Adoption Song, based on the story of a family that adopted two children internationally, this book invites you to journey with Lucy and her parents as they cross the ocean to meet their new family members, Grace and John. Through many months of planning, preparation, and prayer, they make it to their new home. Lucy knew there was room in her heart and couldn’t wait for this new adventure to begin!
