Birthday reflections

 

Last year I was celebrating my 50th on an incredible adventure with my husband, connecting with some of our dearest friends in a hot place! This year is a little bit different. I am still home recovering from surgery and unable to drive, but over the past few weeks, I have learned to allow others to help me in ways I could not again! I’ve had to be reminded of the value of rest again for the purpose of recovery. But it also has revealed to me the need to soak in the moments around you and slow down so you can appreciate all the moments and days God has given! So many meals, cards, flowers, texts, emails, calls and visits
Loving family and friends surround me, and I am so thankful. There are no words to express my gratitude for how my husband continues to shower me with love. He has had to take on a lot of extra things as I recover; he never complains; he does it with joy, he sees it as an opportunity to serve,, and as I watch everybody around me helping out and caring for me, it’s motivating me, even more, to go and do likewise.
It reminds me of the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke, and at the end of Jesus sharing the parable, he says, just that; go and do likewise. Which means go and serve others as you learned from this parable. My soul is full and I am excited to get back on my feet and go and do what God leads me to do!

Thank you to my family and friends for loving me through this season! Today I celebrate with a full heart. 

 

To celebrate my birthday, I have chosen some songs for your enjoyment! We Are Messengers have a new album and I think it is one of their best! We have tickets to see them in Sagina, MI, this May. Super excited about a quick road trip with some of the family.
