Friday Highlight!

The other day I was sitting outside enjoying this long awaited gorgeous May weather and to my delight the girls came outside, but not to be with me! Arms full of paper, pencil crayons and an obvious plan they sat on the patio table and began to talk. I had the privilege of listening in. They created this beautiful moment together through artistic impression. 

Sister, if you were to draw a dress that represents me, what would it be? 

They took their time and created masterpieces for one another and shared what they designed and why, amazing. Next plan, 

Sister, if you were to draw a flower that represents me, what would it be?

Again, they created floral images of one another bursting with not only colour but words of encouragement to accompany the art.

A few of their chosen words,

“You remind me of Rapunzel”

“You are kind and thoughtful”

“When you walk into a room it becomes joyful”

“When you walk into a room it lights up”

“I picked this dress because I love her”

It was a full-out artistic encouragement session that blessed me beyond words. Covid has brought with it much pain, frustration and utter sadness. It has also brought us together in ways that only God could allow. Maybe today you can encourage a bouquet of artistic encouragement with your kids? I am thankful for their creativity, encouragement and inspiration. Thank you my dear girls! xo
