Children are a Gift from the Lord

Motherhood!
M- Mission
O- Opportunity
M- Ministry
I spoke to a group of mothers a while ago about motherhood, and as I prayed about what I would share, this is what the Lord laid on my heart about motherhood.
Motherhood is a mission.
Motherhood is an opportunity.
Motherhood is a ministry.
No matter what stage you are at as you’re heading into a new school year, wherever your kids may be, you’re still a mom on a mission to model how you can love the Lord and love others.
The opportunities that you have to bless your children and all of those around you and your sphere of influence are endless! Having a servant’s heart going into these next few weeks and months is a beautiful way to honour the Lord and others.
The ministry you have as a mom flows through you in countless ways, big and small, all the time. Everywhere you go. Remember the opportunity you have to be on a mission to be a disciple and create disciples. Look for the opportunities to bless your children, your home and others. remember the ministry of motherhood is a gift from God!
Don’t try to do this alone! Find your people, connect, and do this together with prayer as your solid foundation. Find a local, Bible-believing church (such as Hope Oakville) and research their beliefs to ensure the doctrine is solid. When you connect with others, you are stronger and have praying women to walk with you at every stage of your life!
I learned all of this from my mom. Her example of loving the Lord and others has been foundational for me throughout the years. My mom prayerfully made us the focus of her mission and ministry, always providing opportunities to bless us, love us, and point us to Jesus, even when we didn’t want it. She did this intentionally with other women in her life, as well as with my dad, over the years.
Children are a gift from the Lord. If we don’t see our children as precious in the sight of the Lord, we will treat them according to that perspective! They are a gift to love, nurture, adore, and selflessly serve, through both small tasks and large. We pray fervently for them and provide the care and love they need. When we connect with other moms to pray and live life together, we allow the Holy Spirit to move in and through us, so our children see Jesus and, Lord willing, move closer to Christ in their hearts. Remember God knows what you need and your children need. We have to trust our Heavenly Father moment by moment and day to day.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."
