Covid greedily stole many of the good things in life. One of the weekly events in our home was a co-op that I have been leading for many years. The connections were special for the kids and for me too. Sometimes moments are taken away almost abruptly and nothing can be replaced quickly enough.

Even though there was sadness, the thought was immediately planted, to wait and see what happens. We were forced to be patient. The waiting  lured us into creativity and thinking beyond what we used to do. I am sure that happened to countless people around the world.

 Over the summer we connected many times with a special family and my youngest enjoyed the childhood joys of time with a bestfriend. Our families click and that has allowed for fantastic playdates! I knew with my last one at home, planning was, as always, important to the flow of our week. We have gone from a large co-op to an intimate, creative and fun way of learning together. Weekly we connect here at my place and have embarked on a journey around the world. We have started in Africa!  Each one has created a passport and continues to collect facts, while artistically engaging with the beauty of this incredible place. We eat, laugh, create and are making lasting memories and it is only October!

I took the plunge and invested in becoming a  Deep Space Sparkle club member and are using the Global Art Passport Curriculum.  Even if you don’t become a member, there are wonderful freebies offered for all grades.

Change brings opportunities not known, yet. This has been one of those moments and I am grateful.
