Encouragement Full Circle
Sandee Macgregor / September 20, 2021
In the early stages of my journey toward becoming a teacher, along the way I recall finding a list of encouraging words to say to your students. I am sure I kept it in my planner right on my desk. Sometimes things are worth holding onto, and sometimes it’s better to give away. In this case, the words were given away to be caught and held by the students. Many times I would find myself repeating the words or phrases and felt I was becoming a broken record of sorts. I wanted to offer something unique to every single student and that is hard to do. Receiving words of encouragement is soothing to the soul and uplifting to the spirit. It needs to come at the right time, right intention and specific to the individual. It takes creativity, patience, love and consistency. No one wants a broken record approach or you won’t be trusted with the meaning anymore.
It’s a gift to send an encouraging word toward another person.
As moms we often say encouraging words to our kids and in the process forget that we need encouragement too. This is where community becomes a lifeline, a beautiful network of friends. The Bible study groups, homeschool groups/co-ops, work place, friends or neighbours are the ones that have an objective view, a slightly different perspective into your life and can provide encouragement when you need it the most. That is the fuel needed to be able to continue creatively encouraging your family. After being in these groups you come home full and ready to accomplish the next moments and days ahead. Without this community, isolation settles in and defeat becomes the knocking neighbour. Don’t let that one in! We encourage, we need encouragement and the circle continues.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11

This Time I Will Bring Praise (Lyric) | FAITHFUL ft. Leslie Jordan, Christy Nockels, Kelly Minter
"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."
