God of the Impossible

Motherhood can feel overwhelming some days. It is hard to navigate all the needs of the littles under feet, including yours. While driving to drop my daughter and her friends at high school this morning, I couldn’t help but reflect on mornings when my kids were very young and some days were just really hard, likely due to lack of sleep that led to impatience (oh yes, that happened!). I thought about the promises of God and that he is the God of the impossible. I needed those reminders then and I still need them now.
If you follow Christian music, the 52nd Dove Awards just happened. I signed up through TBN so I could watch (it is free!). The performances were amazing and it was exciting to watch artists be recognized for their incredible efforts to honour God through music. CeCe Winan performed her song Believe For It. I have linked the acoustic version. The song reminds us that hope is not lost, and that there is power in the name of God! If you have a chance to watch her performance it is well worth your time!
As I drove home, these are the promises that flooded my mind to share with you this morning.
I am weary and tired
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28
I am overwhelmed
“But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Isaiah 43:1-2
I am not up to the task today
12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

I feel sad and lonely

I feel unloved

We did A LOT of dancing in our house, yes even when it was raining we would run outside and play in the rain. Turn rainy days into days of joyful dancing! It’s hard to stay down low when the music is turned up high!
