“Our loving heavenly Father has a heart for Orphans. In fact, we ourselves become His adopted ‘sons and daughters’ when we come to know Jesus! Lucy’s Adoption Song is a beautiful story book that will help children better understand the scope of God’s unconditional Love for all of His children and the desire He has for us to join him in opening our hearts and homes to the Fatherless (Psalm 68:5).”

Lucy’s Adoption Song is a beautiful and touching story of the true gift of family. Being adopted myself, I immediately connected to the heartfelt reminder that God has a plan for each of his children and that each child’s story is unique and special. It is a perfect book to start adoption conversations with kids young and old. I believe it will help families preparing to adopt as well as those families who have already created a forever family through the blessing of adoption.

I was adopted at just one week old from the “Abiertas House of Friendship” in Quezon City, Philippines. My parents were missionaries from London, Ontario, Canada and they said to each other “our hearts and home we shall give!” to this 4 ½ lb baby girl! I have always been deeply grateful that God answered my birth mother’s prayer that I would be adopted into a safe and loving home AND that my adoptive family would love me, champion me, and share their life-changing faith in Jesus with me. I resonate with Lucy’s story. I love reading and seeing the tender handprints of God throughout every step and decision of Grace and John’s adoption. This is exactly what I have witnessed in my own life. A beautiful tapestry, a beautiful song of belonging, that will inspire and encourage many.
