Motherhood
Sandee Macgregor / July 6, 2020
Reaching into the heart of motherhood has been and will continue to be a lifelong, uniquely traversed, life-changing journey. I am constantly being challenged and changed as I attempt to mindfully pursue God’s way in my life. He is the one that can allow the long-standing changes I desire and exhibit the fruit I crave such as: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control (Galations 5:22-23). Attaining this and living this out well on my own is simply not a wise path. But somehow, I seem to walk that path more than I want!
Philippians 4:13 reminds me that, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” This is true, but I have to choose to allow Christ to reign in my heart mind and soul. If I become queen of my life, I have left no room for Him, my king, to be on the throne. This is a daily battle, to let Him be first. Just because I desire this, it doesn’t mean for one moment this will be an easy task. It’s a daily coming before Him, seeking, praying, reading the word so I am renewed, refreshed and ready for my day. I love how in Lamentations we read that,
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
Over and over again it is through others I am encouraged and inspired. Recently, I had the privilege of spending time away with my daughters and some of my nieces. ALL (8) of my nieces are beyond, beyond amazing and I love spending time with them. Sadly, they don’t all live close by. On this recent time away, the oldest of all the girls encouraged me one morning without even realizing it. She went to a quiet spot, coffee in hand and bible/journal in the other. I don’t know what she read or what she wrote. It was her chosen act of rising to read and spend time alone with God that lifted me up when I was feeling a bit off. It was a beautiful reminder that it does not matter your age, you can be used by God to encourage others anytime, anywhere. Thank you for this encouragement, you know who you are!!
I hold onto His lavish mercy and daily grace through moments such as this.

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."

Love that reminder about becoming queen of our lives and not leaving room for Christ as king!
Definitely a ‘preaching to myself’ moment again!!
Thanks mom! Your prayers are everything!
