This is my favourite kind of snow, the one that clings to the branches of the trees as icing sugar to a gingerbread house. Every time it happens I have to get outside for a walk and soak in the view as it typically does not last longer than a day, or even a few hours. I also say to my kids the same thing every time, that it looks like Narnia. They roll their eyes and say that they know that! But it is true. I love the Narnia Chronicles and if you have yet to read it yourself or to you kids it is a MUST READ! Within the last year we listened to the serious on audio from Focus on the Family mostly while driving around and some at home. It was mesmerizing! More often than not I did not want to get out of the truck and jus keep listening.

As I walked this morning with Angie soaking in the winter wonderland, I was reminded, like the snow on the branches, of things that cling to my life a little bit too much. It does not always look like the pretty icing sugar on a gingerbread house. These habits, thoughts or choices often weigh my down and hold on tightly. Recently, I have been reading through Matthew and came across the verse again 11:28,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This stayed with me while walking and through the morning to come to him, lay my burdens down. What a beautiful promise from a loving God.
