Monday Morning Moments

Taking a risk, trying new things and letting go of fear is this Monday Morning Moment. Yesterday, she said it’s time to ski beside the boat. Knowing she would fall did not stop her from navigating the waves. She kept a firm grip on the bar and and planted her wee feet in the skis for the first time with courage. Cheering her on from the boat were two of her biggest fans, Daddio and her oldest brother. The rest of us from the dock were cheering her on as we have done for all the kids. Guiding her with encouraging words and the perfect boat speed allowed her to fight the urge to give up.

That is what I hope for all of us, encouragement from others to draw us out of deep places so we can freely experience a new moment. I love the imagery of water in Proverbs 20:5, “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”

Finding people to draw out what is in the depths of your heart is a gift to hold onto. Who is encouraging you today? Who can you encourage?
